2011 What a Year!

Some Christmas Cheer Early

below: Norfolk Island Pine HOUSEPLANT!

So, I decided on Sunday, November 26th
to get my head start on the Christmas Season (although I am already thinking of weeding out! LOL) Simple is better and makes for an easy clean-up in January!

Below: Decided to purchase and make my own urns filled with greenery. I can't wait to expand my garden so that I don't have to "buy" my supplies for the urns in the future!

Below: I bought a living wreath too and added some BLING on it it, came
with the pinecones.

New Englanders:

If you consider it a sport to gather your food by drilling through 36 inches of ice and sitting there all day hoping it will swim by, you might live in New England.

If you're proud that your region makes the national news 96 nights each year because Mt. Washington is the coldest spot in the nation, and Boston gets more snow than an...
y other majority in the US, you live in New England.

If your local Dairy Queen is closed from September through May, you live in New England.

If you instinctively walk like a penguin for six months out of the year, you live in New England.

If someone in a Home Depot store offers you assistance, and they don't work there, you live in New England.

If you've worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you live in New England.

If you've had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you live in New England.

"Vacation" means going anywhere south of New York City for the weekend.

You measure distance in hours.

You know several people who have hit a deer more than once.

You have switched from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day, and back again.

You can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard without flinching.

You install security lights on your house and garage, but leave both unlocked.

You carry jumper cables in your car and your girlfriend/wife knows how to use them.

You design your kid's Halloween costume to fit over a snowsuit.

Driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.

You know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction .

Your idea of creative landscaping is a statue of a deer next to your blue spruce.

"Down South" to you means Philadelphia.

Your neighbor throws a party to celebrate his new shed.

Your 4th of July picnic was moved indoors due to frost.

You have more miles on your snow blower than your car.

You find 10 degrees "a little chilly."

You actually understand these jokes, and forward them to all your New England friends.

Need to step it up notch before the holidays...any suggestions?

Aside from wanting new furniture I need to make a decision on colors and put up window treatments and put an area rug in here!!!!!!

Need to get a nice quality boot tray (take note of shoes under the desk:) what's up with LONG wires
anyway? Need to tidy them up!!!!!

Totally not liking this in the kitchen (wine cabinet) it looked SO much
nicer in the living room!!!! Time to MOVE it!

I don't want my view blocked...so thinking up/down shades for these windows?!?!?!

Does fridge clutter ever end? Only the summer here:(

Moved out these red glass candle holders to where the red and yellow
bowl vase is (see below) Just don't have an updated photo yet!

ABOVE: Not liking this sideboard in here .... too country for me but thinking of PAINT
and HARDWARE to fix that issue:)!!!

My LOVE Krumpet giving a good bark here!

Entrance table for keys, in drawers I have dog leash and dog clothing:)

Looks like the home shifted...lol. Want to paint that washed out shabby look,  mustard-colored sideboard a black and put on some modern hardware!!!

totally loving the deep sills and hope to change them out more.. This already is different from
the photo taken here. I added two large red glass candle holder that were on the window above the sink here and took away the tea light leaf holders!!

Open House and Some of My Finds

Their 2nd Annual OH since new owners took over
I did NOT take this particular photo
Along the Squannacook River in Townsend MA there is an OLD and darling shop called the Spaulding Cooperage. I was welcomed there with the sun setting along the river and trees

Stunning sunset, right?

As I walked around the outside to view the sunset and river I took some photos

Nothing like a pretty decorated window box to cheer you up!

What I thought was already experienced pleasure from the outside but found MANY treats inside! Wish I got more photos for you!!!
loved this silver reindeer bowl $25...I didn't want
to spend that on this as I think I can find it Crate and Barrel
Catalog when they are on clearance.

FINALLY! Here are my funky and fun finds! One multi-colored feather wreath, one white feather owl (for my Christmas Tree), and a tree form made of real birch wood!!! I love all three of my items!
