The Bridal Shower

My daughter's bridal shower was this past Saturday, May 14th, 2011. It could not have gone more beautifully. She looked so happy and radiant! The glowing bride to be was in awe of all her gifts which took two long hours to open (we had to tell her open all the cards later at home as we began to get tired of watching her and knew she needed a break:).

Here are some pictures of that day:

What do you think?

OK, my daughter's bridal shower is coming up. I bought a complete outfit a month ago and ended up not liking it for a "shower" so off the mall I went tonight and found a dress that normally would never have picked out for myself because of the pattern/print on it but the sales lady insisted I try it on, once I did (along with about six others) she and everyone else in the dressing room stated this was THE ONE to wear...so it was bought. On a sad note I have a weakness for shoes and while there I tried on a pair of snake skin-LOOK sandals for more than I WANTED to pay but once on my feet there was NO turning back. They fit like a glove! They cost more than the dress;( I have buyers guilt BIG time but I'm sure once I am out and about with them, that will be long gone! LOL
The dress here does not look as good as I was trying to take a pic of myself in it, not an easy task in a dressing room with a cell phone in hand but it really did fit wonderfully and for a shower it is a happy print and conservative looking. Found a cute, short sweater to go over the dress and a fun bracelet along with a pop of color for my hair (a coral floral hair clip).

Close up ... the print appears prettier on than hanging for some reason.

We love the effortless elegance of this flattering linen print dress. Organza inset at the V-neckline adds a feminine touch. Organza sash with snap closure. Hidden centerback zip. Sleeveless. Lined. 22 1/2" length from natural waist.

accessories, the floral hair pin will go to the nape of my neck where a low ponytail will be, need a POP of color. These accessories are from New York & Co. Got the hair piece for $2.74 because I paid full price for the bracelet $14.95, so they took 75% off the full price of hair clip.

Received a LOVING gift Today

I get an Email from a dear, dear friend to go check by the garage for a package. I go down and find a box that I bring up and open. To my surprise it's an early 25th anniversary gift from her and her family. I can't tell you just how touched Tom and I are!!! It's beautiful, thoughtful and well, brought tears to my eyes!
I will display it with pride, admiration, love and respect and always think of them all when I view it...I know Tom feels the very same way. Now, this gives me the BEST excuse to finally declutter that mantel and find the MOST perfect spot to display this!!!
